Proper hygiene and good health go hand in hand. At Astin Home Care, we recognize the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of one’s body. Hence, we offer personal home care services to seniors, people with disabilities, and other individuals who may require assistance with their personal hygiene for any reason.
When one is unable to effectively handle their personal hygiene, life can become extremely difficult. In some cases, especially where family members live far or are too busy to assist their loved one, it automatically leads to the institutionalization of the person in question. But this doesn’t always have to be the case. Through our personal home care services, it is possible to avoid being institutionalized or being confined in a nursing home or aging facility. You may still get to successfully practice good personal hygiene with the help of Astin Home Care’s trained and skilled personal home care caregiver.
How Our Personal Home Care Services Work
A personal care aide visits the patient’s home daily, or on an as-needed basis, and assists the patient with their personal care tasks, which may include but are not limited to:
- Bathing and Showering
- Personal Hygiene
- Incontinence Care
- Getting Dressed
- Meal Preparation and Feeding
- And More
A Team Approach
At Astin Home Care, we recognize and respect the strong desire we all have to be able to manage our personal care to some extent, regardless of age or physical abilities. Because of that, our team of personal care aides has been trained on the importance of understanding our patients’ need for privacy and independence, especially in the areas of toileting, bathing, and dressing.
Our approach is to, therefore, encourage self-care while providing guidance and offering full assistance where required. This approach provides some level of privacy for our patients and also helps them to maintain their independence to the best extent possible.
Our services begin with the patient or family contacting us through a phone call or an email. Our contact details have been provided at the end of this page. But, you may also use our online contact form to leave us a message.
After this initial contact, our care coordinator sets up an in-home visit, where a registered nurse conducts a thorough assessment of the patient’s needs. This initial home visit is also an avenue for us to interact with the patient and the family as a whole and answer any questions they may have concerning the services and our agency.
