Personal Home Care Services in College Park and Atlanta
24-hour Personal Home Care Services by Our Trained Caregivers
Good personal care/hygiene and good health go hand in hand! At Astin Home Care, we know that, and that’s why we offer personal care services to seniors, people with disabilities, and other individuals who may require assistance with their personal hygiene for any reason.
When one is unable to effectively handle their personal hygiene, life can become extremely difficult. In some cases, especially where family members live far or are too busy to assist their loved one, it automatically leads to the institutionalization of the person in question.
But this doesn’t always have to be the case. Through our Personal Care Services, it is possible to avoid being institutionalized, i.e., being confined in a nursing home or aging facility, and still get to successfully practice good personal hygiene with the help of a personal care worker/caregiver.
Signs of Poor Personal Care/Personal Hygiene
- Body odor
- Bad breath
- Dirty clothing
- Long, dirty fingernails
- Unkempt hair
What Is Good Personal Care/Personal Hygiene?
Good personal care or hygiene may vary from culture to culture. But it usually means having a bath or showering at least once a day, brushing your teeth and flossing at least once a day, changing into clean clothes, including underwear, at least once daily, and so on.
How Our Personal Care Services Work:
A personal care worker/caregiver visits the client’s home daily, or on an as-needed basis, and assists the client with their personal care tasks, which may include but are not limited to:
- Bathing and Showering Assistance
- Assistance with Personal Hygiene
- Assistance with Toileting
- Helping the Client Get Dressed
- Meal Preparation and Feeding Assistance
A Team Approach
At Astin Home Care & Medical Staffing, we recognize and respect the strong desire we all have to be able to manage our personal care to some extent, regardless of age or physical abilities. Because of that, our team of personal care workers has been trained on the importance of understanding our clients’ need for privacy and independence, especially in the areas of toileting, bathing, and dressing.
Our approach is to, therefore, encourage self-care while providing guidance and offering full assistance where required. This approach provides some level of privacy for our clients, and also helps them to maintain their independence to the best extent possible.
If you would like to get started with our Personal Care Services, feel free to call us through the numbers provided at the bottom of this page. Once you reach out to us, we will immediately arrange for an initial meeting at your home, where we will access your needs in detail.
